In a bid to foster international collaboration and provide promising career opportunities for civil engineering graduates, the National College of Engineering (NCE) has inked a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with KOUYO DAIICHI CONSULTANTS Co. LTD, a prominent engineering firm based in Japan.
The MOU, signed by representatives of both institutions, aims to create a conducive environment for a cooperative program designed to employ NCE’s civil engineering students as highly qualified personnel within the KOUYO Group in Japan for a duration of five years. This landmark agreement signifies a strategic alliance between academia and industry, bridging the gap between education and employment. Under the terms of the agreement, the initial cohort of candidates shall be NCE graduates of the 2077 batch in five of number in the first year, which will be increased annually, and this employment program will be applicable for all the latter batches from 2077 of the Civil engineering department of NCE. Candidates seeking to participate in the program must undergo a selection process conducted by NCE and once selected, candidates will be provided with training and certification of Japanese Language Proficiency Test (JLPT) with an intent to help candidates to attain proficiency in Japanese language skills. Crucially, the funding and technical assistance for the JLPT certification and associated training will be provided by the KOUYO Group, leveraging NCE’s state-of-the-art facilities to ensure candidates are adequately prepared for the rigorous demands of the Japanese engineering industry.
The MOU signing ceremony, attended by NCE Management Team, Head of Departments, and President of KOUYO Group marks the beginning of a transformative journey for aspiring civil engineers at NCE, opening doors to exciting career pathways and cross-cultural exchange opportunities. This is an initiative of NCE to create opportunities to its students beyond their academic activities. As the partnership between NCE and KOUYO DAIICHI CONSULTANTS Co.
