Bikram Bhusal is a senior lecturer and Deputy Head of Department with extensive experience in academic, research works and structural analysis and design. He completed his Bachelor’s in Civil Engineering in 2017 with a grade of first division from the Western regional campus, Institute of Engineering, Tribhuvan University, Nepal. He completed Master’s program in Earthquake Engineering at Tribhuvan University with a full scholarship. During his graduate-level study, his research was focused on the estimation of seismic hazards using a probabilistic approach and then developing a seismic zonation map of the country. After his graduation, during the last five years, he was involved in more than ten research works that were published in national and international peer-reviewed journals. He worked on probabilistic seismic hazard analysis, site-specific seismic hazard analysis, Nonlinear analysis of buildings and structures, Estimation of VS30 using shallow depth time-averaged shear wave velocity (Developing the empirical equation for VS30), Various codal requirement comparisons for seismic design of structures, Ground response analysis of Gorkha earthquake in Kathmandu, etc. He has published a book entitled Site Specific Probabilistic Seismic Hazard Assessment of Nepal published by Heritage Publishers & Distributors on 2018. He is an active member of Structural Engineers’ Association of Nepal
