I am Kaushal Koirala, a graduate student pursuing a Master’s degree in Geotechnical Engineering at Pulchowk Campus, Institute of Engineering, Tribhuvan University, Nepal. With a strong foundation in Civil Engineering from the same institution, I have developed a focused interest in soil-structure interaction, numerical modeling using PLAXIS, slope stability, and foundation design. My academic and professional journey reflects a balance of technical expertise and teaching experience. I previously worked as a Civil Engineer at Pi Consults Pvt. Ltd., where I was responsible for structural documentation, cost estimation, and project monitoring. I also served as the Construction Instructor at Jiri Technical School, where I taught and guided diploma-level students in applying theoretical concepts to practical engineering problems. I have hands-on experience with a range of engineering software, including PLAXIS 2D/3D, AutoCAD, ArcGIS, SAP2000, ETABS, EPANET, and MATLAB. My research interests center on slope stability analysis, soil reinforcement techniques, water-sediment transport management, and geotechnical zoning using GIS and FEM tools. I am also a recipient of fully funded academic scholarships at both undergraduate and graduate levels and have been involved in various student-led exhibitions and volunteer roles. I aim to contribute to Nepal’s infrastructure development by integrating innovative geotechnical research with practical applications, particularly in the context of earthquake-resilient and sustainable construction.
