Prof. Dr. Arbind Kumar Mishra

Principal,NCE

Dear Students, Parents, Faculty Members, Staffs, Alumni and Well-wishers, Namaste and warm greetings from the National college of Engineering (NCE).

It gives me immense pleasure to welcome you to our college website and introduce you to the vision, values, and commitment that define us.

Arbind Kumar Mishra

Engineering is a respectful, dignified, and highly responsible profession in our society. It is a field that not only builds infrastructure but also shapes the future of the nation. To uphold the dignity and responsibility this profession demands, our learners must possess a genuine interest in engineering and cultivate a deep respect for hard work, integrity, and lifelong learning

Nepal, a country rich in human potential but limited in material resources, faces a persistent challenge: delivering quality engineering education to students across all social and economic backgrounds. Recognizing this, National College of Engineering was established in 2001 A.D. by a group of dedicated and experienced university teachers and professionals, driven by a service-oriented mission rather than a purely commercial motive.

In line with this vision, NCE is committed to providing quality education at an affordable fee. One of our most impactful initiatives is the rank-based fee policy, launched in 2023, which directly links academic merit with affordability. Under this policy, students admitted through the IOE entrance examination pay fees based on their rank. This pioneering approach rare among private institutions affiliated with Tribhuvan University reflects our commitment to bridge the gap between public and private education.

As a result:

  • In the 2080 batch, 36% of students were admitted under the IOE regular fee category, and 34% paid fees equal to or less than the IOE full fee.
  • In 2081, 20% of students were under the IOE regular fee, and 40% were within or below the IOE full fee threshold.

This policy has made NCE an increasingly attractive destination for top-ranking students, significantly enhancing the academic environment, peer learning, and overall institutional excellence.

Our vision is clear:

“To be a leading engineering institution that fosters innovation, excellence, and leadership in engineering education, research, and industry partnership.”

To achieve this, we have developed a vibrant academic ecosystem supported by structured research programs and forward-thinking initiatives. Some of our recent milestones include:

  • Launch of the Collaborative NCE Research Grant Program (NPR 200,000 per project, 5 projects annually)
  • Establishment of the Artificial Intelligence Research Lab (AI Lab) to support faculty-led and student-driven projects
  • Successful completion of the NCE Research Grant 2023 and Announcement of the NCE Research Grant 2025, reinforcing our long-term commitment to research excellence
  • Publication of Volume 2 of the NCE Journal of Science and Engineering (NJSE)

A particularly proud moment in our history was August 8, 2025, when NCE celebrated its Silver Jubilee, marking 25 years of dedicated service in engineering education.

Our true measure of success, however, lies in how well we support our students in acquiring the knowledge, skills, and values required for a meaningful engineering career and a purposeful life. Our graduates are contributing as engineers, researchers, and leaders both in Nepal and abroad a testament to our commitment to excellence and integrity.

I encourage all prospective students to join our vibrant academic community, where quality education, innovation, integrity, and excellence come together.

Thank you for your interest in NCE. I invite you to explore our website and discover how we are shaping the engineers of tomorrow.

Warm regards,

Prof. Arbind Kumar Mishra, PhD
